Shiny iPod Nano ....

You know, I vowed that I was going to try to make 2006 an awesome year - and so, I've been very optimistic and positive. I guess positive thoughts make a difference - cuz' already, it's been a pretty good year!

Good things keep happening! Some of the highlights of the past week (in order of events):
  1. I was contacted by a company who I did an invite job for in the Fall - they want to hire me to do another custom invite job for them (for an upcoming conference). Good stuff!
  2. I came across a sick vending machine. Well, it was more like a slot machine in the form of a vending machine! I say this beause it kept spewing out coins and snacks! Quite a lot of coins and food too. :)
  3. We booked our airfare for our next trip to Europe. Need I say more?
  4. I passed by the same same vending machine and it provided me with more snacks!
  5. I just received an email saying that I won a contest - I just won a free iPod Nano!!!!!

The funny thing is, I've been telling Dan for quite some time now that, after I got my next corporate invitation design job, I was going to treat myself to an iPod Nano. So then I get the job - and within days, I win the Nano. I like this progression of events. :)

Anyways, that's all - I'm off to go pick up my new goodie now! (I wonder which one I got?!)

To London, home from Paris

Whenever we're talking about our next trip, and whenever it's getting close to the time for me to book our airfare, I get a crazy knot in my stomach ...

I get all freaked out and nervous about booking - I guess because, after I book, that's it- it's definitely happening. No turning back! Not that that's a bad thing, it's just a for-sure sort of thing then. Once the flight is booked (without cancellation insurance), we gotta go - gotta make it happen.

Well, for the past few hours the knot in my stomach has been growing ... but no there's no point in letting it eat away at me any longer.

Because WE JUST BOOKED OUR AIRFARE!

Yep, we're flying to London in mid-May, flying home from Paris mid-June.

Woooooooo!!!!!!

Happy 2006!

A bit of a delay in posting this .. but hey, happy new year! I hope it's a great, happy, healthy year for everyone. I'm not one to make N-Y resolutions ... Dan & I both plan on trying to make this the best year yet. 2005 will be hard to top, I'm sure, but we'll give it a go. :)

I had planned on doing a "best of 2005" list on here, but I haven't really had a chance to think about it. So instead, off the top of my head, I'll list some of the highlights of the past year:
  • getting married in Italy (that one definitely takes the cake ... for sure!)
  • meeting up with and hanging out with 11 of our closest friends in Italy
  • all of our trip to Europe last May (Italy and southern France are the BEST!)
  • shopping for/buying/wearing my wedding dress (cheesy but true - I love my dress!)
  • meeting Emma
  • starting my own invitation-design business
  • hanging out with an old friend on N-Y Eve (haven't hung out in ages)
  • the Depeche Mode concert in November
  • the Moby concert in May
  • Moby's "Hotel"
  • Depeche Mode's "Playing the Angel" (minus the Martin Gore songs, I just don't dig those ones)
  • spending time with Sophie (all of it!)
Like I said, that's just off the top of my head .... so I likely missed some important stuff. If I do, I'll update the list later. But for now, some pics from the N-Y Eve gathering at John's place!! (I'll only post pics of people who my "readers" might know/have heard of). Warning: severe drunken shots below! ;)
