Well, the big day was last Thursday. I went in to the oral surgeon and had a little sleep while he yanked the cracked molar out of my mouth. Overall, things went pretty well. The only negative thing about the procedure was when they put the IV needle into my left hand and started to inject the junk into my vein ... and it started leaking! HOLY SHITE, did that ever hurt!! Good gawd, did it ever ... So they got it out pretty quickly and moved to my right hand instead.
The specialist was great, as was the nurse and everyone else - that made it a lot better for me. I thought that I was doing really well - I was actually proud of myself for keeping so calm ... but I guess I wasn't all that calm after all, as my blood pressure was super high and my heart rate was between 107-109 the whole time (average is around 76, I believe) ... ha! Okay, so I guess I was a nervous wreck after all ...
For some reason the hand they used for the IV totally swelled up, beyond normal. It was pretty gross! The swelling went down within about 24 hours though, and now the entire top of my hand is left with a big, nasty bruise (it's huge!). I don't think this pic does the size of the swelling total justice, but check it out:
I got a Dora the Explorer band-aid!
Woke up and Dan took me home. That day went fine, as I still had drugs in me to dull the pain. The next day went pretty well too, minus one near-blacking-out episode in the morning. And after Friday, things went down hill. I felt absolutely shitty all weekend - and still feel kinda lame (but definitely better than yesterday). I didn't go to work today, so I'm sure that helped - I've been sleeping sooo much. I guess my body is tired - after all, all this healing business is hard work!
I have a few pics, but I'll just share a tame one, so as to not gross you out ... at least you can see a little splash of red in there.

PS: A big, big thank you to those of you who checked in to see how I was doing/feeling ... it really meant a lot to me.
