I mentioned little Claire bear in my last post, so I thought I'd post a pic of her ... isn't she just the cutest?! :D

Bye-bye, 2007 ...

1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
I started my own business!! Well, I had offically started it awhile ago, but it wasn’t until January 2007 that I really, really pushed forward with it.

2. Did you keep your New Year’s Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don’t generally make N-Y resolutions, if I’m going to make one, I’ll do it on any day of the year. That said, ironically I have made a resolution, and will begin working on it later this week … it just happens to be the first week of the new year this time around. :)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

My sister had another little girl – hooray! Her name is Claire, she was born October 15 and she is sooo adorable!!

4. Did anyone close to you die?

No, thank goodness.

5. What countries did you visit?

Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Italy, USA (Las Vegas, Washington).

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?

More time!

7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Oct 15 – Claire was born.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Really getting going on my business, and it being a success.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Being lazy = not exercising.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Not physically, but I was a bit down for a few weeks while I was on medical leave from the day job. I was on medical leave because I’d been dealing with a workplace bully for far too long, and it finally wore me down.

11. What was the best thing someone bought you?

I got lots of nice things from lots of nice people. :)

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Hmm …

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

The workplace bully I was dealing with before she resigned.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Rent. Student loan payments. Business expenses/supplies.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Travel, of course!! We went back to Europe for our 8th time this past Spring. Yaaaay!!!

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?

“Don’t Cry Out” by Shiny Toy Guns. It was one of my most-played songs on my iPod while we were riding the train in Europe.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

a) happier or sadder? Not happier or sadder, maybe just a little more on edge …

b) thinner or fatter? Maybe a tad fatter, but not likely by too much. I’ll be working on getting on the thinner side again soon. Very soon!!!
c) richer or poorer? About the same. I made more $$ this year, but I put it towards travel and paying down some debt.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Travel. Exercise.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Stress.

20. How did you spend Christmas?

We were hoping to find a last-minute deal to jet off somewhere, but no such luck. If we had been able to fly off the week before Xmas, we could have gotten some wicked deals, but … well, it just didn’t work that way. Too bad. :( It ended up that we spent most of Xmas day by ourselves, then around 2pm we paid a visit to our favourite Starbucks folks, then around 4pm we went to Angie, Wayne, Sophie & Claire’s – we exchanged gifts, ate a yummy turkey dinner, etc. Then around 11pm Dan & I walked home in the snow!

21. Did you fall in love in 2007?

No sir, that happened ages ago!

22. How many one night stands?

Nada, I’m a married woman. :)

23. What was your favorite TV program?

The Amazing Race, Reaper, Heroes, America’s Next Top Model, Supernatural, The 4400 …

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

I was about to say no, but then I came up with someone, believe it or not! So yes, I hate my new boss at the day job. I didn’t know her a year ago, so I didn’t hate her. But now I do know her, and have become quite acquainted with her rude ways, so I now hate her. I dislike her so much that I resigned from my job, and will only be there for a couple more weeks. Tee hee!!

25. What was the best book you read?

Umm, the ONLY book I read, you mean? That would be Confessions of a Shopaholic, by Sophie Kinsella. Yes, it’s true. It’s the first book I’ve read in AGES! Well, aside from books on small business stuff.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Shiny Toy Guns!

27. What did you want and get?

Almost everything I wanted, I got – cuz’ if I want something, I make it happen!

28. What did you want and not get?
The only thing I didn’t get was more time in the day … darn!

29. What was your favorite film of this year?

I guess I didn’t have one …

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I didn’t do much on my actual birthday, as it was mid-week. But the weekend before we had some peeps over and drank yummy Belgian beer … and the weekend after we were on a flight to Amsterdam! I hope to repeat these events again this year. :D

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

If I’d had more time, a lot of things could have happened that would have added to my satisfaction – but that didn’t happen, so I need to just let it go! (and make those things happen now)

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?

Lacking.

33. What kept you sane?

Dan.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

None.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?

Don’t follow politics.

36. Who do you miss?

I miss some of the friendships that I’ve had in the past, and how things used to be with some people. But shite happens, friendships change, and it all happens for a reason!

37. Who was the best new person you met?

Ina!

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007?

I don’t know if I learned any new ones, but I still stick with my usual ones:

• everything happens for a reason
• life is what you make it
• Karma’s a bitch!

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

”Balls out, my life is a slut”. Okay, so maybe it doesn’t sum up my year, but it’s such a silly lyric that I had to quote it! Tee hee!!!
