Good mail day!

Yesterday morning was grrrreat! First, the mailman delivered some supplies I was waiting for, and a fun package from the fabulous Ms. Cynthia! She had a contest on her Big Girl Feet blog a short while ago and my name was randomly chosen to receive one the three fun prizes that were up for grabs - here it is!

She sent me a fantastic reusable shopping bag (check out that great Hawaiian print - I looove the colours), a CD full of fun songs (Cynthia - I need a song list!) and a couple of yummy teas. Thank you, thank you, Cynthia - as I'm always saying, you totally rawk! :)

Next up was the courier, who delivered these! Yay!

You might recognize these Diesel shoes ... yep, I actually bought the exact same pair last year. The thing is, they're such GREAT shoes but my original pair is starting to wear a bit. They are awesome to take on trips when I'll be doing a lot of walking, so with the upcoming Eurotrip on my mind, I realized that I should really try to score another pair before they disappear forever. I hunted high and low online but couldn't find them (well, I could - but only in pink) ... I kept looking on Ebay (some would come up in black, but never in my size) ... and then, FINALLY, one day last week a lovely pair of size 8.5's showed up on Ebay. I HAD to order them ... and here they are. :)

I sure wish I had more good mail days. I used to do a lot of random mail exchanges with various peeps - it was always sooo fun - I totally miss it!

Eurotrip 2008

I seem to have neglected mentioning that Dan & I booked our flight for our next Euro adventure! We booked our flight a couple of months ago now but we still don't have an itinerary put together ... but we're working on it. I guess we've pretty much visited all of the main European cities that we had on our "to see" list, so now we have to start visiting some of the places that are lower down on our list.

All we know at this point is that we're flying in/out of Paris (mid Sept to mid Oct) and that we'll end up in Munich at the end of September (for Oktoberfest!).

At the moment, we're thinking of doing a mix of places that we've been already, along with some places that would be new. The idea would be to do a big circle-trip, with the starting and ending points being Paris (obviously).

Places we've been to before, and are considering returning to
:
  • Paris, France ... our home away from home, so we'll be spending some time here, of course. We'll do some day trips in addition to hanging out in the city itself.
  • Brugge, Belgium ... seeing as we LOVE Belgian beer, we are in need of a return trip! Belgium itself is a great place to visit too, for reasons other than beer. ;)
  • London, England ... there's a possibility we might go back for a few nights.
  • Munich, Germany ... we're definitely going back here - how many times in a lifetime will you go to Oktoberfest in Munich?!

Places we haven't been to before, but are considering:

  • Vienna, Austria ... along with daytrips within Austria, and a sidetrip to Bratislava, Slovakia
  • Valencia, Spain
  • Strasbourg/Colmar, France

That's what we've been thinking of so far ... any suggestions/recommendations on where we should go?!
