Me so proud!

Just look at this - my life-long friend on the cover of a big magazine! Making the cover of this mag was a dream he had since he was a kid - and now look at him, he did it. I'm *so* proud of him!!

Hard to believe we first met way back in 1986 (yes, I said 1986 - a couple of decades ago), before he even started playing the drums. We were more into bike riding back then! Now look at him - unbelievably talented, in a hugely successful band, on the cover of magazines and completely respected by his peers.

And he's still the nicest, most thoughtful guy - I'm so lucky to have him as a friend. Here's proof of how sweet he is ... look at what he just sent to me - two books he picked up for me while out on tour:

He knows I love sock monkeys.

And he knows how much I love France.

Wasn't that super thoughtful of him? I think so. :)

Simply put - he's the best. Talented, thoughtful. He hasn't let success and/or fame go to his head. He's the same kid I met all those years ago, in grade 6, out in the suburbs. No matter how busy he is, he makes time for me. He's one helluva inspirational guy. He rocks! :)

Happy Blogoversary to moi!

Wowza, it's been 4 years since I started this blog. C'mon, let's celebrate with some of my favourite things!

Of course, we have to start with a tasty Belgian beer ...

Followed by a yummy cupcake ...

Throw in a cute sock monkey for good measure ...

And top it all off with a Starbucks latte!

View from the desk

I've been sooo busy with invitation orders lately (don't get me wrong, this is totally to be expected with wedding season being right around the corner and all, and I love it!) I'd much rather be uber-busy than slow, that's for sure. But the 12 hour days and working on weekends does get a bit tiresome, I will admit.

Me thinks someone might just need a vacation in a month or two!

Finally, a replacement!

I've been on the hunt for a new jacket - one that's not too light, not yet too heavy. It generally doesn't get very cold here in Vancouver so I don't need a winter coat that's too heavy. I stumbled upon this Rip Curl jacket on the weekend and snapped it up!

This pic doesn't really do the jacket justice, but it's the only one I could find.

I splurged

I bought them. I had to. Get this, I hunted high and low for these boots ... finally found a pair, and they just so happened to be in my size. And they were 50% off!
I'm pretty sure it was meant to be.

My new BFF!

I'm pretty sure this will be an extremely boring/lame-o post to most of you ... but I'm just so excited, look what arrived yesterday!

My new industrial corner rounder!! If you can believe it, I've been using a stupid little manual corner rounder that is intended for scrapbooking use (definitely not intended for high volume corner-rounding). It's gotten to the point that I've been avoiding doing designs that involve round corners, as doing it with that stupid little corner punch has been killing me (every cut resulted in quite a jarring movement and get this - the average order requires around 1000 corner rounding cuts, and that stupid little punch could only do a max of 2 cuts each time! BRUTAL.

However, I'm thrilled to say that those days are over. I'll be saving my neck/back a lot of pain by avoiding all those repetitive strain movements, and will save a ton of time too. Woooo! Today is a good day. :)

PS: Wondering why I didn't order one of these machines sooner? I guess it was just one of those things I procrastinated over for far too long (a totally lame reason, I know).
