Wowza, things have been busy lately. Like, crazy-busy. For some reason, every single time I'm planning on taking some time off (which obviously means closing the studio for a break), I get inundated with custom invitation orders. Not that I'm complaining, it's just that the timing is impeccable! So - over the past two weeks I've been swamped with invitation orders, all of which have to be completed and out the door before I jet off to Europe. Needless to say, I've been a busy bee. To top that off, work at my day job has been equally crazy-busy. And to top THAT off, I've been hit repeatedly with migraines lately ... those pesky things have a tendency to wipe me out (I wonder why?!) and set me back. But in the end, all will work out - everything will get done and in 8 days I'll be sitting on a plane, en route to Europe. I'm keeping my eye on the prize!
Speaking of the trip - just when we thought we had everything sorted/planned in terms of our itinerary, 4 of our friends decided to join us and meet up in a few different places in Europe. So D & I put all of our bookings (ie. trains, hotel bookings) on hold until our friends got their stuff together. Wowee, that was a mistake! We held off for about 3 weeks or so (which we weren't overly happy about, btw), with the thought that we'd coordinate with our friends. Anyhoo, they're a bit slack when it comes to planning so D & I decided to just go ahead without them and do our bookings - after all, the trip is just around the corner! Like I said though, waiting -- what a mistake. Prices skyrocketed and tons of trains in/out of Munich are sold out. Eeep! Lesson learned - never again will we hold off and wait for others ... not if it means paying tons more money and whatnot. Rather, book - then figure out places to meet up with friends. :)
Anyhoo, we finally got things sorted and I ordered our train tickets last Friday. They were delivered via courier yesterday. As of this morning, all of our hotels are now offically booked too - so we're set. Phew! I'll do another post and fill you in on our revised itinerary ...
